Maybe you always dreamed of doing some of the things you read about on this site. Things like stripping, flashing, skinny dipping, nudism, or exhibitionism. But somehow, you’ve never managed to work up the courage to pull it off. Or maybe you’ve daydreamed of your partner being a little more adventurous, but they don’t want to.
If you’re in that boat, have no fear! You can overcome these inhibitions (without turning to substances). Start by taking baby steps, and you’ll get to the destination eventually.
First things first, as always, be aware that branching out and exploring a new side of you may bring some unintentional consequences. Legally, know what the law for your area is regarding public nudity, etc. Generally, even if you live in an area where it’s allowed, you’re not allowed to practice it around kids. Be considerate of your friends, family, and neighbors — some people just aren’t ready to see you au natural. And of course, practice common sense and stay away from an unsafe environment.
The first Building Confidence dare was posted on 2 December 2023. If you need to build up the confidence to take on this dare, I recommend you go back and start with the first one.
Risk Factor: 3/5
Location: Your house.
For this dare, you’ll need a house, preferably with a yard to give you a little space from the neighbors. If you live in an apartment or condo, the next dare will be for you. Or, if you’re feeling really adventurous, you can AirBnB a place for the night.
For set up, go though your normal evening routine, just as we’ve been doing up to this point. Be naked for a couple of hours leading up to the time. Like the last dare, you should wait until late enough that it’s unlikely your neighbors will be peering out their windows.
This dare will utilize your front door, but just to be on the safe side, unlock the back door. You don’t want to accidentally get locked out… yet. Save that for later.
When all’s quiet on your street, turn off the lights inside and outside. Open the front door just a crack to make sure no one’s around. If you don’t see anything, open the door enough to stick your head out. Once you’ve verified that no one’s out walking or is otherwise looking in your direction, open the door all the way. Throw your shoulders back and stand in the doorway in all your naked glory. Someone might see your nude body, and it’s exciting!
Once you’ve stood there for a minute or two, it’s time to go further. Open the screen door if you have one, and step out. Feel the night air on you as you’re fully exposed to the world. You could be caught at any minute, but the adrenaline rush is worth it, I promise!
Close the door behind you and count to 30. If you’re really adventurous, stand there a full minute, or even longer. Half a minute is your minimum, though, and you can’t go back inside for any reason until that 30 seconds is up. You can touch yourself if you want, or you can stand with your hands at your side or behind your head, but no covering up.
Once your time is up, step back inside. A word to the partners here. At this point, you are not allowed to lock your partner outside yet! That will come soon enough, I promise, but for now we’re still building confidence. Also, if you have one of those doorbell cameras, be aware that it will record the whole thing. You can go into the corresponding app and either delete the video or keep it, your choice.
Once you’re back inside, congratulations! You just completed the riskiest dare of your life, and you survived! You did it! Feel the rush of being totally exposed! Not only was it not that bad, it was actually pretty fun, wasn’t it?
A quick note here. I’m fully aware that I’m writing this in December, which is early winter for most of the northern hemisphere. As always, I want you to be safe while you’re having fun. If the weather is so severe that you can’t be outside for a couple of seconds, save this dare for a later date. But for most people, being outside, even in sub-freezing temperatures for 30 seconds is not going to cause any damage. If you need to, take a hot shower afterwards. But don’t use the weather as an excuse to back out unless it is truly necessary.
For those of us who live in an apartment or condo, stay tuned for the next dare — it will be designed just for your situation.
