Hello,
Hi TODPeepers! Happy July (almost August) - at least I hope everyone else had a better one than I did - odds are in your favor! (Unless it favors the odd, then I'm not sure.)
First, though, I want to thank all three of the people that offered to help me with the photo shoot... in the name of desecration, I won't mention names, but I truly appreciated your offers. And to the poor fellow I kept fighting his mail server, I apologize (speaking of which: if you write me from Y@hoo, H0tmail, or other affiliated mail addresses, there is a good chance I will not be able to reply to you as they are rejecting any mail from me at their servers and never telling the recipient/user/person I'm trying to mail/reply - often times if I can get through, I'm having to strip off pictures I attach to the mail and edit out lots of words that reject my mail as 'permanent error' spam - that will not be accepted at server level).
Anyway, someone looking like me went through with a shoot - but I'm not willing to accept it yet. So while mail servers are rejecting me, I'm denying I did the shoot... just yet, but give me time to see the images (I've only seen a couple so far - one of which made it into a book already (Rose Art... already banned on almost all ebook servers!) - well, if the book hadn't been rejected by the publisher... oops, sorry, getting ahead of myself).
And on the topic of rejection...
It would seem my journey to publication is fraught with challenges - and never really where I think I'm going to find them (well, unless you count a certain cover shoot for an unfinished manuscript mentioned last post and above).
I released two books this month - or at least tried to - both rejected for various offenses against the precious, untainted eyes of the publisher's review staff. The first is another collection of stories from my messed up mind, the other an art book collaboration using me as the subject/model for every piece (I know, you're screaming, "Narcissistic b!tch!" - but trust me, it wasn't really my idea, I just didn't decline to do it - so it just makes me gullible).
The art book (Rose Art) was rejected (and finally banned) on all fronts and we were instructed to remove it immediately from the site. The photographer/artist obviously was resistant to that idea and attempted to remove any potentially offensive art (I presume their dainty little eyes discovered I said the word "clitoris" near one of the images, which made them look more closely) - which amounted to less than half-a-dozen images. Even removing those it couldn't pass - so it sits with my other books on the publisher's site waiting for them to discover we haven't deleted it yet. Oops.
As for my latest actual book, Coming Up Roses, would you believe it was rejected because the cover was offensive? And the morality police were kind enough to mention my 'About the Author' picture (a rose laying near my bottom) was also offensive - both have to be changed to meet the high standards set by a particular on-line ebook publishing organization (this same group routinely allows/publishes robo-authors that generate such redeeming titles as: "Daddy's Little Girl F*cks the Neighbor Dog," "Busty School Girls Suck Dog Dick," and other obviously high quality material.
If you promise not to be offended, you can look at the pictures attached - not from any of the Dog series mentioned (which obviously I had nothing to do with, either writing or the artwork! No woman would want her name to be coupled with 'dog' in the same sentence), but from my book (cover and about the author images) - and let me know if you think I'm in the wrong and they truly are offensive (yes, I know, select your audience first, _then_ ask the question!).
Sorry for the long winded post - but it's from me, what do you expect? Look on the bright side, you get more words for the price of the same admission ticket!
Speaking of benefits - my original post was supposed to say something about Christmas in July, so I was sending along a little gift-wrapped number. So Merry Christmas!
There were also a couple questions about the shorts that don't really fit me - this angle possibly shows a little better I don't have the booty to truly do them justice. Of course, it didn't prevent the photographer from asking if I'd try.
Last, but not least, a simple little country girl thank you, again, to the folks that have offered to help - both in location suggestions and posing partners.
If anyone has any questions about the books, how to annoy publishers, the final bastardization of the images which were finally approved, where you might still be able to find a copy of our banned book, or just about any topic under the sun - feel free to write me - just be warned, I do write back!
Warmest Christmas in July wishes! Hugs - CQtRose
