Hello,
Patrick: My wife and I have been looking at posts on this site for a while now; sometimes just to live vicariously through all these daring people and other times to contemplate the "what if's". Dawn has been trying to psych herself up to do a boudoir photo shoot this year. She has been going to the gym and trying to find lots of fun lingerie and posing techniques to add to her experience. After a recent practice shoot, she complained of being really nervous in front of the camera. I suggested (half jokingly) the idea that we try some practice "dares" to get her more "exposure" in front of the camera. The thought being that taking pictures naked, in a more or less public space might help ease her nervousness of being in a studio (controlled environment) with a photographer. Quite to my surprise, she agreed whole-heartedly. The next step was to decide what to do...
Dawn: I've always been super self-conscious about my body. Before having a child, I felt like the only "cute" parts of my body were my breasts. After having a child, I put on some weight (but have lost 20 lbs in the last 4 months by working out AND eating right), and now have what I call "mom boobs." Later this year, my biggest goal is to have a boudoir (lingerie...and lack thereof) photo shoot. That is a tangible goal that I hope to achieve this year so that in years to come, I can look back at pictures of myself and [hopefully] say, "I looked GOOD!"
After deciding what type of pictures I wanted to take, my husband and I took a short drive to a nearby lake, not knowing if I would be daring enough to bare ANYTHING! It was just going to be a scouting trip. We were by the water's edge while a group of people were getting their boat ready to launch through the willow thicket. You could see movement, but couldn't make out faces, so I thought to myself, "It's now or never," thinking that the boat might just float within site for a while. So, I became daring really fast and had to distract our child with, "Go find three rocks and throw them in the lake." I'm really shy when it comes to this type of thing, so this was a HUGE thing. It was an adrenaline rush, and I had to keep telling my husband, "Get ready," because he would take a picture and then lower the camera really quickly. Like HE was the one who was going to be embarrassed if we were seen! Haha! It was just as exciting for him as it was for me! I was wet and he was hard by the end of the quick couple minutes it took to take the lake pictures. So, for those moms or couples thinking you can't sneak away from your kid(s) to participate...you CAN!!! Just be creative (and quick)! Nothing distracts like a shoreline full of rocks and a large body of water. Although NEXT time we plan to take pictures, we're going to have to get a babysitter; we were both so horny at the end of the shoot!
